Weekly Korean words with Jae Korean101.com videos episodes 1-5

Korean101.com produces a youtube video every week called, "Weekly Korean words with Jae." I have reproduced the sentences they create here, because for myself I find that the subtitles go way too fast and having to stop the video every few seconds is irritating. I thought that other people may have the same problem and this might help them. I haven't corrected the English grammar of the subtitles, so you will see that some times it is a bit awkward when you read the English translation, (I'm thinking of the time "mouses" was used.)


April 22, 2014 Negative adjectives


1. Sad 슬픈
그 영화는 슬픈 영화다.
That is a sad movie.

2. Difficult 어려운
한국어는 어려운 언어더.
Korean is a difficult language.
한국어는 어려운 언어거 아닙니다.
Korean is not a difficult language.

3. Ugly 못생긴
못생긴 친구가 에뻐졌다.
One of my ugly friends became beautiful.

4. Angry 화난
오늘아 아침에 화난일이 있었다.
There was something that made me angry this morning.

5. Disgusting 역겨운
내 친구는 역겨운 음식을 좋아한다.
My friend likes disgusting food.

Hyundai automobiles is the biggest automobile company in Korea.

2. Lotte 롯데
서운에는 롯데 백화점이 많이 있습니다.
There are many Lotte department stores in Seoul.

3. Samsung 삼성
삼성은 자동차도 만들 었습니다!
Samsung used to make cars too!

4. Korean Air 대한 항공
대한 항공은 한국에서 가장큰 항공 사입니다.
Korean Air is the biggest airline company in South Korea.

5. S.M.Entertainment 에스엠 엔터테인먼트
에스엠 엔터테인먼트에는 유면한 가수들이 많이 있습니다.
At S.M.Entertainment there are many popular singers!

I like wireless keyboards more.

2. Laptop computer 노트북
저는 노트북을 육개월에 한벅씩 바꿉니다.
I change my laptop computer every six months.

3. Computer mouse 마우스
무선 마우스가 편리합니다.
Wireless mouses are convenient.

4. Headphones 헤드폰
저는 헤드폰으로 음악을 듣습니다.
I listen to music with headphones.

5.Microphone 마이크
저는 노래방에서 마이크로 노래를 불렀습니다.
I'm singing a song with the microphone at karaoke.


May 20, 2014 Being sick


1. Infection 염증
팔에 염증이 났어요.
I have an infection in my arms.

2. Allergy 알레르기
저는 땅콩 알레르기가 있어요.
I have a peanut allergy

3. Headache 두통
어제 술을 많이 마셔서 두통에 걸렸어요.
I drank a lot yesterday, so now I have a headache.

4. High fever 고열
어제부터 고열이 있었어요.
I have had a high fever since yesterday.

5. Hangover 숙취
한국 사람들은 숙취가 있을 때, 숙취 해소 음료수를 마신다.
Korean people drink hangover drinks when they have a hangover.

At this hospital, there are many beautiful nurses.

경찰관에게 잡혔습니다.
I got caught by a police officer.

서울에는 농부가 없습니다.
In Seoul, there are no farmers.

4. Office worker 회사원
저는 회사원입니다.
I am an office worker.

5. Programmer 프로그래머
저는 프로그래머가 되고 싶었습니다.
I wanted to be a programmer
